He didn’t bark. He didn’t wag his tail. He just looked at me, his eyes full of questions, as if asking, “Can I trust you?” His body was still, and for a moment, the world around us felt quiet. Maybe he had been hurt before, maybe people had walked away, but here we were - me holding the camera, him holding onto the smallest bit of hope. In that moment, I understood.
